But my story is just ...I was at work, as were many. But my story is just a bit different. A little over two weeks before the attack happened, my daughter, unbeknownst to me at the time, enlisted in the Navy. When she told me a few days after she signed up, my wife and I were, well, let’s just say, not amused. Yes, she was 18 and could do as she wished, but she was in no way ready for anything. She was adopted from a family that abused and neglected her terribly and she had only been under our wing for a few short years. After my initial irritation with her choice, I found a way to get my head and arms around her decision, and supported her, albeit reluctantly. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge supporter of our military, it’s just not where I felt she needed to be and she had done this with no warning.

Then the towers fell.

I came home fully aware of what had happened that day. I watched the events unfold on TV’s at work.
When I opened the front door to my home, there was Jessica, sitting on the sofa, watching for the seventy third time, the towers tumbling to earth. She ran to my arms, her make-up streaked and hair a mess, and cried, “Daddy, who did this? WHO DID THIS?!?!?”
I said, “I don’t know sweetheart, but I do know you’re going over there and your going to find whoever did this and kick their ass.”Eric Graffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00811398681615216585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1075932024272546688.post-63439609535945502592011-09-09T20:00:57.626-07:002011-09-09T20:00:57.626-07:00I was at work in a warehouse in Mansfield MA (just...I was at work in a warehouse in Mansfield MA (just south of Boston). I didn't know what was going on and thought nothing of it as I thought a small Cessna had crashed into the building. Then while watching I saw the second jet fly into Tower #2. I blurted out, "We're at war!"sig94https://www.blogger.com/profile/11460563552989533923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1075932024272546688.post-24612071248677936912011-09-09T17:48:58.916-07:002011-09-09T17:48:58.916-07:00I was at work (factory) listening to the radio and...I was at work (factory) listening to the radio and heard that the Pentagon had got hit and realized with shock and terror that the United States was under attack. Much to my dismay the people I worked with had no idea what the Pentagon was?!And ignored me. Until we heard about the Towers, they realized something was terribly wrong. I sat in shock the whole day. And then went to the doctors later on and was told I was pregnant with my second son. Stayed up all night watching the news crying and crying and praying to God. The loss of life and seeing people plummeting to their deaths will forever be imprinted on my mind. I will NEVER forget this tragic day.Trekkie4Everhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03226981394122557804noreply@blogger.com
