I support Steve Johnson for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania

Steve Johnson is running for lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania.  I actually had the pleasure of meeting him about a year ago.  He was raised in Pennsylvania, was an Eagle Scout, a soldier who served in Desert Storm, a Penn State graduate, and is now a small business owner.

Here are his Priorities for PA:

Jobs

The greatest Return on Investment (ROI) to our communities happens when citizens are rewarded for innovation, taking risks, and working hard. Government's job is to foster an environment to help businesses grow rather than to control them. Pennsylvanians will create greater opportunity and greater prosperity for our Commonwealth when government simply gets out of the way.

Government Spending and Regulation

Pennsylvania has lost 200,000 jobs since July 2008. Our state ranks 47th in the nation in being business friendly. Creating a business friendly environment must be government's #1 priority.

Since 1970, Pennsylvania's government costs have skyrocketed 167% (inflation adjusted). The taxes we pay can no longer keep up with the pace of the spending. Neither your business nor your household can afford to operate this way without serious financial distress. You know you can't spend beyond your means neither can your government.

Steve Johnson has always done the job in business. Steve Johnson will bring successful practices and his strong leadership skills to work for you.

Healthcare

All Pennsylvanians deserve health care coverage, but I am opposed to the health care legislation that could place Harrisburg Bureaucrats in control of healthcare. More government control will raise taxes, increase government spending and lower the quality of care. We must strengthen the existing private market system with policies that will drive down costs and make it easier for people to purchase affordable insurance.

Security: No Misguided 9/11 Trial in PA

9/11 terrorist trials have no place in Western PA. Acts of war belong in military tribunals. We need to make our stand here and now.

Barack Obama and Ed Rendell have no right to force this misguided trial on Pennsylvanians. This is just another example of wrongheaded and irresponsible decision-making by politicians that have put us on the wrong track.

The associated costs would be in the hundreds of millions of dollars while needlessly placing thousands of lives at risk.

Family Man
Steve and his family are active members of the Living Word Community Church in Red Lion, PA. Steve lives in York County with Jane, his wife of 17 years. They are the proud parents of four children, Ian (13) Olivia (11), Philip (8) and Matthew (7).
