The Hill reported:
A group of House Republicans introduced a bill on Wednesday to rein in the various “czars” in the Obama administration.Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and 28 other House Republicans introduced legislation to do away with the informal, paid advisers President Obama has employed over the past two years. The legislation, which was introduced in the last Congress but was not allowed to advance under Democratic control, would do away with the 39 czars Obama has employed during his administration. The bill defines a czar as “a head of any task force, council, policy office within the Executive Office of the President, or similar office established by or at the direction of the President” who is appointed to a position that would otherwise require Senate confirmation.
This is great news! These radical czars need to be reined in, big time. I hope that the GOP eliminates the "Czar" position completely or at least adds an amendment which would state that if Czars want to be advisers of the president they must be confirmed by the Senate.
Boehner better get this bill on the floor for a vote ASAP!
ReplyDeleteOnce they eliminate the CZAr's, they need to eliminate the TSAr's.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news. I hope it passes both houses. I can't see why senators would vote against senate confirmation.
ReplyDeleteYay, Yay, Yay.

I'm starting to really like this new Republican majority.

ReplyDeleteGreat news, however what are the chances of Barry signing it should it pass.
ReplyDelete112TH Congress is already on the march... This year should be fun, provided this congress truly means business and has the will to fight for what the people want...
ReplyDeleteI like...keep the heat on I say.
ReplyDeleteHere is the thing, if Congress forbids czars, they better do it for both parties. For all persons in the Executive must be given Advice and Consent by Congress.
ReplyDeleteI will hold both parties to this. No more czars period.
And now we have Recess Appointments!
ReplyDeleteThis really is great news!! Now, let's get it done.
ReplyDeleteThis is great!
