Struggling... Health update with links, bits, and pieces

I haven't been around the blogosphere the past week or two. I have been struggling quite a bit lately since the one year anniversary of my hysterectomy was on September 24. Very sad. Plus I am still having a lot of problems with my health.  I still have endo pain and bad bone and joint pain.  Plus I have very little energy. My doctors are pretty sure that I have fibromyalgia. One of my prescriptions has changed. This one is supposed to help out with my joint and bone pain. Really hoping it helps. In addition I've been thinking over whether I need to have a bone marrow biopsy done to figure out why my red blood cells are too big since the other blood tests were fine.

Apparently a star studded cast has just finished with a movie shoot for a film called PERSECUTION which will be out in Spring 2014. . The movie Persecuted will cover topics such as government scandal, corruption, and religious persecution.

PERSECUTED is the story of a modern-day evangelist named John Luther, played by SAG Award-nominated and Saturn Award winning actor James Remar (X-Men: First Class, Dexter, Django: Unchained, What Lies Beneath, RED, Cotton Club). Luther is the last hold out for a national endorsement to make sweeping reform in freedom of speech. As the government is mandating political correctness while covertly waging a war against religious organizations, a U.S. Senator, portrayed by Oscar-nominated actor Bruce Davison (X-Men, Lost, Castle), and his political allies create a sinister plan of denial and scandal to frame John Luther for murder. Suddenly his once normal life is turned upside down as he becomes a fugitive vowing to expose those responsible. It is a mission that brings him face-to-face with the coming storm of persecution that will threaten the moral ethics and freedoms of America.
"I hope people come out of the theater asking the question: what would you do if you faced persecution for your beliefs? We're living in a generation that has been raised to believe there's no such thing as truth, and a world that is tired of the games the church has been playing for its own agenda. I hope to wake up a world that takes freedom and truth for granted; I hope this movie shakes people up," said writer, director and producer Daniel Lusko.
PERSECUTED cast includes Dean Stockwell (Air Force One, The Manchurian Candidate, Star Trek), Fred Thompson (Law & Order, Die Hard 2, Hunt for Red October, No Way Out), Brad Stine (recognized as God's Comic by The New Yorker magazine, social commentator on Fox & Friends, Marriage Retreat) Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto, Cowboys and Aliens, The New World), Natalie Grant (five-time Dove Award-winning singer and songwriter) and Gretchen Carlson (Fox News).

This sounds like a good movie.

Senator Ted Cruz mounted a laudable 21 hour sorta filibuster against Obamacare funding in the budget. Obamacare has been a nightmare so far and it's only going to get worse. Obamacare is not patient centered health care. Repeal Obamacare!!!  Then Congress needs to pass common sense legislation which really makes health care affordable while keeping the great health care that we have in the USA. Health care that doesn't control our lives and that respects our religious beliefs.

Ted Cruz told Limbaugh "the single biggest surprise in arriving to the Senate is the defeatist attitude here. We don't even talk about how to win a fight. There's no discussion.
"We talk about, 'Hey, let's get a show vote so we can go tell our constituents we're doing something,'" Cruz added. "But I promise you, Rush, if you had to sit through one Senate lunch, you'd be in therapy for a month."
In the Obamacare fight specifically, it has led Republicans to fear battling Senate Democrats, even causing some collusion between the parties, Cruz said.

Many Republicans representing their constituencies are doing the least possible to fight against Obamacare implementation. They are spineless weaklings who just care about going around to get along and don't care about stopping the worst health care in American history.

Sunday Scripture Quotes and Songs

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

... but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. Matthew 6:12-15

Lee Stranahan asks for help to tell stories of Christian Syrian Refugees

Lee Stranahan has written an open letter to bloggers & citizen journalists:

Dear Colleagues,

On Saturday September 7th, I announced that I was trying to go to the Middle East  to cover the plight of Christian refugees. I think the situation in that part of the world is grave for Christians and the story is being underreported. The story is so big and so important, that I want to make sure as many people as possible are able to talk about it.
That’s where you come in.
I’m planning to report about what I find for my job at Breitbart News, of course, but because I’m crowd funding this trip independently, I’m able to do some thing that may help you in yourreporting.
My goal is to gather hours of raw material, both audio and video as well as photos. I’m focusing on people’s stories; what it’s like to be a Christian in the Middle East right now, how they escaped and what they hope happens next.
Here’s What’s Happening For Bloggers
  • I’m going to make all the raw audio, video and photos I gather available to you free under a Creative Commons license.
  • If you have questions you’d like me to ask Christian refugees, send them to me at Stranahan@Gmail.com. I’m not going to promise I’ll ask them all (for obvious reasons) but I’ll try and I will credit you. Please pick your best question or two.
  • I will be available for interviews or questions, both before and after the trip.
If there’s anything else I can do to help you, please let me know.
Please help spread the word about this to your readers. Link to my fundraising page.
This is a historic chance for citizen journalists to make a difference on a breaking international story.
Lee Stranahan is undertaking a noble endeavor and he will be in my thoughts and prayers.  I wish I could donate to help him but because of my health issues and my not working finances are real tight. But if there is any other way for me to aid him I will offer my services. God Bless his mission.

Limbaugh announces his new book Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims

Rush had been encouraged and prodded by Vince Flynn to write another book for quite some time. Then one day his wife came up with the idea of a children's book to help kids know the history of America.  The whole title of Limbaugh's new book is Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans .

What an excellent idea!!  There are so many kids across the country being fed the wrong information about America and her founding. This book will help educate kids about genuine American history, not the fabricated crap, revisionist history, that many progressives dish out to indoctrinate students into a me me me government owes me something mentality. Kathryn and Rush are awesome!

Vince said to Rush: "Well, why don't you put together a compilation?  Look at all the monologues you've done on the radio and you've preserved all of them on your website. You could get somebody to edit those things and put together three or four books of some of your greatest monologues, each one a chapter."  It's a great idea, but I never moved forward on it.  And then out of the blue... well, the timeline is kind of sketchy on this, but my wife, Kathryn, in conjunction with Vince's entreaties to me, came up with an idea that literally lit a fire under me.
She said, "You know, you're always talking about how history is being mistaught.  You're right.  You're always talking about what kids are learning these days, and they're not learning about the greatness of America.  They're not learning about the founding days. They're not learning the right things about the people, the great people, the exceptional people who founded this country."  And she said, "Why don't you write a book for kids? A series of books for kids, maybe -- see how the first one goes -- that sets the record straight on American history."
And so that is what has happened.  And what we have done, we have brought to life Rush Revere, our character at Two If By Tea.  And we have today the ability to announce to you a book that is aimed for everybody, but it's for kids, to learn the truth about the very early and beginning days of this country, but it is a book for everybody to buy.  Everybody has kids in school, and they're worried sick about what they're learning.  And some of you don't know what to do, how to counter what your kids are being taught, and so Rush Revere to the rescue here.
Now, I don't want to give away the book.  Remember, it's a kids book, but you get the book and you read it with them or you read it to them or you have them read it.  It's for everybody.  I don't want to give an age-group here because I don't want to exclude anybody, 'cause the book is for everybody, but it's written for young people, and it's written honestly, and it does not have an agenda.  It's just the truthful history of the Pilgrims, who they were, where they came from, why they came here, what happened when they got here.  The true story of Thanksgiving.  There's no politics in this.  Ages 10 to 13, something like that, is the age group it's written for, but it's for everybody.  CONTINUED

The book comes out October 29th. I'm going to purchase at least one book for my nieces and nephews. Go and pre-order your book today.

Martyrs Blessed John Francis Burte and Companions Feast Day -- History Revisited Upon Us?

I receive a Saint of the Day email in my inbox each day. Blessed John Francis Burte and his companions are the saints recognized today. These particular saints were martyred for their faith. The historical significance behind their deaths, that is the reason behind their deaths, jumped out at me since I saw a number of similarities between what is happening at the present time in the United States and with what happened to these priests during the French Revolution. The motto of the French Revolution was "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity" and I see history being revisited upon us today under the guise of "equality" and "diversity".

These priests were victims of the French Revolution. Though their martyrdom spans a period of several years, they stand together in the Church’s memory because they all gave their lives for the same principle. The Civil Constitution of the Clergy (1791) required all priests to take an oath which amounted to a denial of the faith. Each of these men refused and was executed.
John Francis Burté became a Franciscan at 16 and after ordination taught theology to the young friars. Later he was guardian of the large Conventual friary in Paris until he was arrested and held in the convent of the Carmelites.
Appolinaris of Posat was born in 1739 in Switzerland. He joined the Capuchins and acquired a reputation as an excellent preacher, confessor and instructor of clerics. Sent to the East as a missionary, he was in Paris studying Oriental languages when the French Revolution began. Refusing the oath, he was swiftly arrested and detained in the Carmelite convent.
Severin Girault, a member of the Third Order Regular, was a chaplain for a group of sisters in Paris. Imprisoned with the others, he was the first to die in the slaughter at the convent.
These three plus 182 others—including several bishops and many religious and diocesan priests—were massacred at the Carmelite house in Paris on September 2, 1792. They were beatified in 1926.
John Baptist Triquerie, born in 1737, entered the Conventual Franciscans. He was chaplain and confessor of Poor Clare monasteries in three cities before he was arrested for refusing to take the oath. He and 13 diocesan priests were guillotined in Laval on January 21, 1794. He was beatified in 1955.

COMMENT:
"Liberty, Equality, Fraternity" was the motto of the French Revolution. If individuals have "inalienable rights," as the Declaration of Independence states, these must come not from the agreement of society (which can be very fragile) but directly from God. Do we believe that? Do we act on it?

QUOTE:
“The upheaval which occurred in France toward the close of the 18th century wrought havoc in all things sacred and profane and vented its fury against the Church and her ministers. Unscrupulous men came to power who concealed their hatred for the Church under the deceptive guise of philosophy.... It seemed that the times of the early persecutions had returned. The Church, spotless bride of Christ, became resplendent with bright new crowns of martyrdom” (Acts of Martyrdom).
