The Bible -- Inerrant or Not?

Recently, Kevin and I have been discussing on a separate blog whether all of scripture is inerrant or not. According to Traditions in the Catholic Church the Bible is inerrant. But some people question whether particular passages like this are truly inspired by God:

Samuel said to Saul: "It was I the LORD sent to anoint you king over his people Israel. Now, therefore, listen to the message of the LORD.   This is what the LORD of hosts has to say: 'I will punish what Amalek did to Israel when he barred his way as he was coming up from Egypt.   Go, now, attack Amalek, and deal with him and all that he has under the ban. Do not spare him, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.'" (1 Samuel 15:1-3, New American Bible, St. Joseph Edition)

Here is another difficult passage that my husband directed me to:

2Ki 2:23-24 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them. (KJV)

Can Bible passages that are inspired by the Holy Spirit be “perverse” as one of our friends characterized the first passage quoted above?

I am looking for input on this subject from people of any and all faiths, and those lacking faith.

Puerto Rico 51st State?

I don't normally come across what I would call a great article in The Huffington Post, but in looking on information on H.R. 2499 which is the Puerto Rico statehood bill that will be voted on today, I did.  Rep. Gutierrez points out that the Democratic Leadership has been much less transparent, and not allowed much debate on this bill which is in stark contrast to a time when a similar bill was brought before the House, when Newt Gingrich was the Speaker of the House.  He makes some excellent points in this article.  Should Puerto Rico become our 51st state?  I have mixed feelings on this issue.  But, ultimately I think it should be the Puerto Ricans choice along with our Congress as to whether Puerto Rico does become a state or not.  But, this seems forced or even a DARE not to vote for the statehood of Puerto Rico.

A Good Debate on the Arizona Immigration Law

This is a good debate on the Arizona Immigration Law-actually it took place before the bill became law.  The federal law is a law which is supposed to be keeping American citizens safe, but the federal government refuses to enforce the federal law already on the books, so Arizona needed to pass this law for Arizonans' protection and to enforce the rule of law. But there are pro-violators who are against both the federal and Arizona laws, maybe people whom I would call anarchists or people who are pro-anarchy- definition of anarchy is a state of lawlessness and disorder- who are against these laws and for open borders all for the sake of social justice, and are ignoring the widespread ramifications of the increased ensuing violence that illegal immigrants have caused and brought into this country.  There needs to be law and order in our country and the Arizona law helps to do just that, at least for Arizonans. Russell Pearce is right on!!

Racial Slur Yelled at Tea Party Speaker Michael Johns

Here is a video of Michael Johns speaking at a Tea Party staying composed and cool as a cucumber, all the while a racial slur are being shouted at him.  And, the MSM says the Right is causing racial tension and are a bunch of racists.  This couldn't be further from the truth. This Leftie loon proves the opposite, that the Left are the hate-filled people causing racial divisiveness with yelling racial slurs at people.  Liberals have used everything in their Alinsky playbook to try and paint the Tea Party in a bad light and yet not even one person has come up with credible evidence to support any of their accusations.  Nor has their been an apology from any of the false accusations being flung around by both the Lib politicians and the Left Stream Media.  What a disgrace-gutter politics of the lowest form being displayed by the democrats.

Netanyahu at His Best & A Crash Course on the Arab-Israeli Conflict

Netanyahu at his best

Even those who aren't particularly sympathetic to Benjamin Netanyahu could get a good measure of satisfaction from this interview with

British Television during the retaliation against Hamas' shelling of Israel .

The interviewer asked him: "How come so many more Palestinians have been killed in this conflict than Israelis?" (A nasty question if there ever was on)

Netanyahu: "Are you sure that you want to start asking in that direction?

Interviewer: (Falling into the trap) Why not?

Netanyahu: "Because in World War II more Germans were killed than British and Americans combined, but there is no doubt in anyone's mind that the war was caused by Germany 's aggression. And in response to the German blitz on London , the British wiped out the entire city of Dresden , burning to death more German civilians than the number of people killed in Hiroshima ... Moreover, I could remind you that in 1944, when the R.A.F. tried to bomb the Gestapo Headquarters in Copenhagen , some of the bombs missed their target and fell on a Danish children's hospital, killing 83 little children. Perhaps you have another question?"

Apparently, Benjamin Netanyahu gave another interview and was asked about Israel 's occupation of Arab lands. His response was, "It's our land". The reporter (CNN or the like) was stunned - read below "It's our land..." It's important information since we don't get fair and accurate reporting from the media and facts tend to get lost in the jumble of daily events.

"Crash Course on the Arab-Israeli Conflict."

Here are overlooked facts in the current & past Middle East situation. These were compiled by a Christian university professor:

BRIEF FACTS ON THE ISRAELI CONFLICT TODAY... (It takes just 1.5 minutes to read!)

It makes sense and it's not slanted. Jew and non-Jew -- it doesn't matter.

1. Nationhood and Jerusalem : Israel became a nation in 1312 BC, two thousand (2000) years before the rise of Islam.... Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel..

Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 BC, the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand (1000) years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

4. The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 lasted no more than 22 years.

5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem , they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders
did not come to visit.

6)Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned even once in the Koran.

7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem . Mohammed never came to Jerusalem .

8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem . Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem .

9. Arab and Jewish Refugees: in 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews . Sixty-eight percent left (many in fear of retaliation by their own brethren, the Arabs), without ever seeing an Israeli soldier. The ones who stayed were afforded the same peace, civility, and citizenship rights as everyone else.

10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.

11. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.

12. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own people's lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel , a country no larger than the state of New Jersey ...

13. The Arab-Israeli Conflict: the Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.

14. The PLO's Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel . Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them.

15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

16. The UN Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel .

17. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel .

18. The UN was silent while 58 Jerusalem synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.

19. The UN was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives .

20. The UN was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like a policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

Tea Party Exposes Disconnect Between Democrats & Concept of Democracy

Does Obama Think Allowing Illegal Immigrants To Violate U.S. Laws equals Fairness?

Does Fairness include illegal acts?  Or illegal activity which includes not supposed to be residing in the USA without permission for entry first?  Like crossing over the Mexico-United States border into the U.S. illegally?  Or is this Obama trying sure up his base with illegals?  Democrats are, yet again, violating the Constitution by not being willing to enforce security at the borders, and in effect not being willing to protect citizens from the ensuing increased violence being committed by illegal immigrants.  Obama's version of immigration reform is amnesty for illegals. And, that is the exact opposite of the reform we need in this country. In fact, that is bogus reform-not reform at all.

Did The Government make "Most Blacks" Immoral?

This is an excellent interview.  Cenk Uygur, the Young Turk, interviews Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson, and Reverend Peterson blows TYT's mind, making bold statements that no white person could get away with.    According to Reverend Peterson, "most blacks" are morally deficient.  He blames the government, specifically welfare and Lyndon B. Johnson's Great Society programs for replacing the father and making him unnecessary. Even those who are not on those programs are morally damaged because they support them.

Do you agree with Rev. Peterson's assessment?

A theological word of caution: In one part of the interview the host makes reference to Leviticus 11:9-12, and implies that homosexuality is on the same moral plane as eating shellfish (kosher law).  He is dead wrong, but this requires an explanation.
Leviticus is the book in the Pentateuch that pertains to priestly laws about what is holy and unholy.  This is a cermonial law that goes beyond the moral law, just like how in Pre-Vatican II times in the Catholic Faith it was a mortal sin to eat meat on Fridays, or this ceremonial law is analgous to Jews not eating pork.  Eating shrimp is not intrinsically wrong, but homosexuality is intrinsically disordered.  God was preparing Israel for the Incarnation of Jesus.  That was the whole purpose of of the Old Covenant ceremonial laws.  With Christ's sacrifice an institution of the New Covenant the old temperal cermomial laws have been replaced but the moral law is eternal.  It remains unchanged.  The prohibitions against murder, theft, blasphemy, impiety, covetousness, and sexual immorality (adultery, incest, bestiality, and, yes, homosexual acts) are everlasting.

Navy Seal Found Not Guilty Over Beating of Terrorist Suspect

One Navy Seal has been rightly or justly found not guilty.  The truth has prevailed and now I hope that the truth prevails with the other two trials.  This could have been all avoided if their commander, or General in charge had just handled this properly, but he didn't.  He could have just talked to the Navy Seals if he felt that their treatment of the terrorist was harsh.  PLus, that is one method in the terrorists playbook- to make false accusations. Wars, during American history, have not been won by being nice to our enemy.  These Navy Seals are heroes for capturing one member of our enemy, who so brutally murdered our contractors in Iraq.  Petty Officer 1st Class Julio Huertas, 28, was found not guilty by a six-man military jury of dereliction of duty by failing to stop a colleague from punching the prisoner, Ahmed Hashim Abed. He was also acquitted on charges of trying to cover up the assault by influencing the testimony of another service member.

In one of the most notorious murders of the war in Iraq, the contractors' burned bodies were dragged through the streets and two were hanged from a bridge over the Euphrates river in the former insurgent hotbed of Fallujah.

The verdict will be welcomed by veterans groups and other supporters in the United States, where the case has brought calls from congressmen for the department of defence to step in and stop the trial.

But attention will now turn to two remaining cases arising from the incident, against the man accused of committing the alleged assault, Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew McCabe, and against Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathan Keefe, who is also accused of failing to intervene.

The Iraqi was arrested in a operation conducted by Seals, the naval branch of the US special forces, last September. He is accused of masterminding the kidnapping, killing and burning of four private contractors working for the Blackwater security firm in Fallujah in 2004. One of the men was a former Seal.

Happy Earth Day!

Ever since growing up, I have been interested in nature, the oceans, and creatures of the ocean.  While growing up I enjoyed crabbing and fishing on the ocean and Earth Day is a reminder that we must all help to preserve nature and animals natural habitats. I grew up near Ocean City, MD and while growing up enjoyed going boating during the spring and summer months.  After watching this video trailer this morning, Kevin and I have decided to go to the movie theater and see this new Walt Disney nature film.

From Freep.com:  "Fish that look like rocks -- or scarves, or a jeweled brooch, or anything but fish -- are among the fascinating underwater creatures that inhabit "Oceans."

Meanwhile, along the shore, sea otters frolic in Monterey Bay and penguins in the Arctic emerge from the frigid water, only to shake themselves off and waddle away. The adorable factor is high.

Still other moments are striking for their enormity: Scads of spider crabs crawl over one another in undulating waves across the ocean floor. Sea birds dive-bomb the surface in symphonic fashion as they hunt for fish, with scores of dolphins leaping and twisting among them. The sweeping score from French composer Bruno Coulais, who also worked on "Winged Migration," heightens these scenes.

It's highly unlikely that you'll ever have the opportunity to witness such spectacles in person. Perrin and Cluzaud scoured all five oceans to bring them to you. And Brosnan, as narrator, reminds us that all this majesty is in danger: Like "Earth" and "Under the Sea 3D," "Oceans" includes a message about the importance of protecting our underwater expanses and the beings that call them home from pollution and climate change."

Has Cardinal Mahony Gone Off His Rocker?

Is a State enforcing illegal immigration laws a form of Naziism or Communism?

"According to Fox News, The Rasmussen Reports poll found 70 percent of likely voters in Arizona back the bill, which cleared the state Legislature this week and awaits the governor's signature, despite concerns about potential civil rights violations.

The Arizona bill would create a new misdemeanor crime for failing to have an alien registration document; allow officers to arrest anyone unable to show documents proving their legal residence in the country; and allow people to sue over claims that a government agency is hindering immigration enforcement.

The Rasmussen poll reflected bipartisan support for the bill in Arizona. Eighty-four percent of Republicans support it -- but so do 51 percent of Democrats. Forty-three percent of Democrats oppose it. "

Cardinal Mahoney Stated:
“The Arizona legislature just passed the country's most retrogressive, mean-spirited, and useless anti-immigrant law [SB 1070, awaiting the expected signature of Gov. Jan Brewer],” Cardinal Mahony wrote on April 18. “The tragedy of the law is its totally flawed reasoning: that immigrants come to our country to rob, plunder, and consume public resources.”

“The law is wrongly assuming that Arizona residents, including local law enforcement personnel, will now shift their total attention to guessing which Latino-looking or foreign-looking person may or may not have proper documents,” he added. “I can't imagine Arizonans now reverting to German Nazi and Russian Communist techniques whereby people are required to turn one another in to the authorities on any suspicion of documentation.”

Although the measure would require police to ask for documents if there is a “reasonable suspicion” that a person is an illegal immigrant, The Los Angeles Timesnoted that the bill “would not require people to report suspected illegal immigrants to authorities, as [Cardinal] Mahony intimated.”

Does Cardinal Mahony realize that a sovereign has a right to protect its citizens? And, that a sovereign has a right to enforce laws?  Does he realize that violence has increased over the years and that a large portion of the increase in violence has been committed by illegals who have crossed the border?  What happened to Mexico's and other Central or South American countries obligation to make sure that their citizens have food, water and shelter? Why hasn't he called those leaders out and demanded acts of social justice from their leaders and communities?  I think it is just and proper to help these illegal immigrants in their own countries, but not in the U.S.A.  Thank God he is retiring soon and a better and more traditional Catholic leader, Archbishop Jose Gomez,  is taking over the reigns in L.A.

H/T CatholicCulture.org

New York Times=Anti-Catholic= Journalistic Malpractice

The New York Times is a bed of anti-religious smutt, only seeking to destroy moral absolutism and further the cause and destruction of Christianity, and in particular the Catholic Church.  Their  legs  paper is spread wide open promoting the secular, liberal agenda, anything goes policies (as long as it pertains to liberals), that are against a core set of moral beliefs.  They defend Roman Polanski and his sexual deviancy and are a bunch of hypocrites for distorting the facts lying as to the cases of sex abuse within the Catholic Church. The New York Times REFUSED TO POST an article/letter written telling the truth about the sex abuse cases. Here is the article:

"Like many other people, I have felt in recent weeks that some news outlets have unfairly targeted Pope Benedict XVI in connection with sexual abuse by priests.

In part this is a question of emphasis, with daily coverage of what may or may not have been minor mistakes in judgment decades ago and almost no attention to the major efforts Pope Benedict has made to remedy what is undeniably a horrible situation.

With some frequency, however, I have observed what strikes me as deliberate distortion of the facts in order to put Pope Benedict in a bad light. I would like to call your attention to what seems to me a clear example of this sort of partisan journalism: Laurie Goodstein and Michael Luo’s article “Pope Put Off Move to Punish Abusive Priest” published on the front page of the New York Times on April 10, 2010. The story is so wrong that it is hard to believe it is not animated by the anti-Catholic animus that the New York Times and other media outlets deny harboring.

Canonical procedure punishes priests who have violated Church law in serious ways by “suspending” them from exercising their ministry. This is sometimes referred to as “defrocking.” (According to Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary to “defrock” is to deprive of the right to exercise the functions of an office. )

A priest who has been suspended may request that he be released from his vows of celibacy and other obligations as a priest. If granted, this petition to be “laicized” would leave the former priest free to marry. Laicization (which is altogether different from defrocking and which may apply to a priest who has committed no crime but simply wishes to leave the priesthood) is not further punishment. It is something a priest who has already been punished by being suspended might well desire, as do some priests who have committed no crime and who have not been suspended..

The priest who is the subject of the article had already been punished by being suspended long before his case reached Rome. He asked to be laicized. Cardinal Ratzinger delayed his laicization not his “defrocking” as the article incorrectly says. He had been defrocked years earlier when he was suspended from the ministry. All of this is clear without reference to outside sources to anyone who knows something about Church procedure and reads the article with sufficient care. It is anything but clear, however, to a normal reader.

My complaint here is not that the article misuses the word “defrock” but rather that by so doing it strongly suggests to readers that Cardinal Ratzinger delayed the priest’s removal from the ministry. Delaying laicization had nothing to do with allowing him to continue exercising the ministry, from which he had already been suspended.

Not only does the article fail to make these distinctions, it positively misstate the facts. Its title is “Pope Put off Move to Punish Abusive Priest.” [italics added] It describes Cardinal Ratzinger’s decision as involving whether the abusive priest “should be forced from the priesthood” [italics added]. Even a moderately careful journalist would have to notice that all of this is incompatible with the fact (reported in the second paragraph of the article) that the priest himself had asked for what Cardinal Ratziner delayed.

Had the facts been reported accurately, the article would have said that the priest was promptly punished by being removed from the ministry for his crimes, but that when he asked to be reduced to the lay state, which would have given him the right to marry within the Church, Cardinal Ratzinger delayed granting the petition. That, of course, would hardly have merited front page treatment, much less a headline accusing the Pope of “Putt[ing] off Move to Punish Abusive Priest.”

The second half of the article reports that the priest later worked as a volunteer in the youth ministry of his former parish. This is obviously regrettable and should not have happened, but he was not acting as a priest (youth ministers are laymen, not priests).

A careful reader who was not misled by the inaccuracies in the first part of the article would, of course, realize that his volunteering as a youth minister had no factual or legal connection with Cardinal Ratzinger’s delaying the grant of laicization. The article does not say in so many words that it did, but an average reader might well conclude that there was some connection when he is told that “while the bishop was pressing Cardinal Ratzinger to defrock Mr. Kiesle, the priest began volunteering in the youth ministry of one of his former parishes.”

Any one of these errors might be due to carelessness, but their cumulative effect, coupled with the decision to make this front page news accompanied by a two column photo of Cardinal Raztinger’s signature, strongly suggests to me that something worse than carelessness is involved. I urge you to look into whether some major news outlets have indeed been engaged in a campaign to vilify the Pope and into whether their desire to do so has caused them to slip below minimum standards of professional journalism"

1.7 Percent Versus 10 Percent

From the Daily Monitor:
"Child sex abuse is a sad social evil not limited to the Catholic Church. Sam Miller gives us some statistics: while 1.7 per cent of Catholic priests have been guilty of paedophile, 10 per cent of Protestant clergy has been found guilty of the same crime. 12 per cent of 300 Protestant clergy surveyed admitted to sexual relations with a parishioner, 38 per cent accepted to have had inappropriate sexual contact, 41.8 per cent of women clergy reported unwanted sexual behaviour, 17 per cent of lay women have been sexually harassed (study by United Methodist Church, USA)"

While all cases of sexual abuse are evil and wrong, why have other Churches with higher percentages of sexual abuse not been targeted by our media? Could it be that other Churches include an agenda of acceptance of homosexuality? Or women priests?  Do these other Churches stand up on the side of moral moral absolutes or on the side of moral relativism? Is it because the Catholic Church shines a light and is a threat to the dark side of this secularist society?

"It is not appropriate to call all Catholic priests names. In the United States, the Catholic Church still educates 2.6 million students daily. It still runs 230 colleges with a total of 700,000 students in the US alone. It runs 637 hospitals and is next only to the federal government in the provision of social services. With 64 million members in the US, plus a two per cent increase in the last two years, the Catholic Church is the largest single church in the United States. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has mechanisms in place to guard against the sex abuse of minors by any adult working for the church in parishes, schools, hospitals, orphanages and so on. The mechanisms are working because there are no fresh reports of abuse of minors. So, do not be afraid."

I agree!!!

Freedom From Religion Attacks Freedom Of Religion

Since I couldn't get the embed code to work here are two links to the video:

H/T goes to The Conservative Lady

Judge Crabb spreads her crabbiness across this land, along with her fakakta nature, hostility and disdainfulness to religious freedom is violating the Constitution  while displaying her ignoramity to the history of the United States.

"This is an egregious and revealing decision," Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, said. "It shows the brooding hostility toward religion that exists at some levels of federal, state and local government in this country.

The case began in 2008 when the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Madison-based group of atheists and agnostics, filed a lawsuit against the federal government claiming that the day of prayer violates the separation of church and state.

This charge is Hooey, Complete Hooey!!  Drabby the crabby Judge is full of Hooey!! Anti-Religious fanatic!!!

In 1952, President Truman signed into law a joint resolution of Congress to set aside an annual National Day of Prayer, and Congress amended the law in 1988 to establish a more particular date.

The law reads, "The president shall issue each year a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a National Day of Prayer on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups and as individuals."

The National Day of Prayer Task Force, in a news release April 15, noted that the tradition of designating an official day of prayer actually began with the Continental Congress in 1775, after which President Washington issued a National Day of Thanksgiving Proclamation.

Ever since, the task force said, American presidents have made similar proclamations and "appeals to the Almighty." Historically, all 50 governors, along with presidents, have issued proclamations in honor of the National Day of Prayer. More at BPnews

Judge Crotchety needs to be relievedetey of her duties immediately for impuning both the bench  and good names of contitutionalist judges all across America. Her political chicanery and Leftist activism violates every citizens' FREEDOM OF RELIGION.

On CNS.com Jay Sekulow stated, "It is unfortunate that this court failed to understand that a day set aside for prayer for the country represents a time-honored tradition that embraces the First Amendment, not violates it," said Jay Sekulow, chief counsel of the ACLJ.

"This decision runs counter to well established legal precedent and we're confident that this flawed decision ultimately will be overturned. We will be filing a brief representing members of Congress challenging this federal district court decision in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit,” Sekulow said in a statement.

‘If National Day of Prayer Is Unconstitutional, the Constitution Is Unconstitutional’  Are we no longer a nation that values our Christian heritage? Do people want to ignore several years of U.S. history and throw prayer out the window?  This is an attack on religious freedom and our Constitution and everyone who is truly a Christian and for religious rights should be appalled at Judge Crabb's ruling.

Here is a History of The National Day of Prayer

Let's send Judge Crabb who has her head stuck in the sand in the muddy waters, like a crab stuck in its own shell ignoring both reality and history, a clear message-that this Leftist anti-freedom political activism is unacceptable and we patriots will fight to keep our religious freedom alive in America.

Explaining How Liberalism Clouds Moral Clarity & Its Relation to the Priest Sex Abuse Scandal

I have written on the priest sex abuse issue HERE, HERE and posted more on the issue HERE. Over at Kyle’s blog, Journeys in Alterity, he has written on Telling The Church’s Story. Here is one question that he asked in reply to my comment:
I also don't see how the abuse and cover-up was a result of liberalism clouding moral clarity. That's another process of causation that begs explicit explanation.

As much as I abhor how these priest pedophiles acted in abusing children the public, certain figureheads, especially the MSM, must not make blanket assertions that the Catholic Church on the whole is bad or immoral, and even more immoral than our secular society today, because that is an absurd notion. Is Christopher Hitchens a hypocrite for calling out the Catholic Church and other religious entities for the sex abuse scandals? I would argue, YES. A person can be a hypocrite and right at the same time. Hitchens has never called out public schools or the Boy Scouts or any other secular organization or non-religious person because that would not advance his anti-theology agenda. I am not saying that his speaking out has to be even-handed just some attempt at standing up against these types of abuses on all fronts. As a figurehead in our society when Hitchens speaks out his words are watched closely and that makes him different than the average Joe in his obligation to be at least somewhat consistent with his outrage against certain issues. Plus, the crux of Christopher Hitchens agenda of anger against the Church lies in his anti-religion bias and it doesn’t seem to be evident that his purpose is to fight for the truth, and to protect the young flock within the Church. He is not targeting the liberal Bishops of the United States or psychiatrists with outspoken criticism --who thought that there was a cure and that the pedophile priests could be healed, the people who were primarily responsible for the priest sex abuse scandal cover ups-- but instead he is targeting a Pope who has continuously stood up for Catholicism and its traditions. Pope Benedict continues to speak out and defend the Church against the liberalism that seeks to destroy the Catholic Church’s very core- the enemy (Satan) within. Pope Benedict has done more to combat against the sex abuse cases and stop them from happening than previous Popes. Pope Benedict has spoken out against abortion, homosexual marriage, contraception, euthanasia, and women priests.

Since before Vatican II, liberals within the Catholic Church have tried to undermine the very traditions that hold together and makeup the Church. Conservative or faithful Catholics have never questioned the core traditional values and challenged the Magisterium on issues such as abortion, contraception, euthanasia, women priests, homosexual marriage, but liberals or advocates of dissent and departure from the Magisterium have over the years- since the 1950’s. Since at least as far back as the sexual revolution of the 1960’s liberal Catholics have dissented with the Church’s moral teachings and sought to undermine the Church’s traditional values. Seminaries were beds of liberalism that promoted a secret cult-like homosexual lifestyle while giving off the appearance to Rome or the Vatican that they were compliant with the Magisterium, when in fact they weren’t. Liberals today continue to advocate for heresy within the Church by advocating for scandalous dissent with the Church, and spreading a moral relativistic philosophy that encourages the rampant purposeful actions of leading the flock astray. Think about this- Has there ever been any factual evidence presented to verify that this type of rampant sexual abuse within the Church occurred prior to the 20th Century? I have yet to see one iota of proof that has pointed to this happening prior to the sexual revolution counterculture period in our history or prior to the feminist movement. Liberalism is about denying moral absolutes, which is a retreat from moral clarity.

A recent study has linked homosexuality and pedophilia, as noted HERE by Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone.  There is more information on that link HERE.

This article states that Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, the Vatican's permanent observer to the United Nations, read the following statement after a meeting of the United Nations human rights council in Geneva: “Of all priests involved in the abuses, 80 to 90 per cent belong to this sexual orientation minority which is sexually engaged with adolescent boys between the ages of 11 and 17.”

John Rossomando at The Daily Caller points out that liberal Catholics are exploiting scandal for political gain.

There were two buses heading from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C., and Reverend C.L. Bryant actually rode on our bus part of the way to D.C.  It was exciting!! He was so insightful into the politics of Barack Obama and talked about the difference between Obama's Czars and Bush's Czars.  He also shared how he became involved with the Tea Party movement.  He is such a brilliant and inspirational speaker!!

Tax Day Tea Party Time!

I am feeling better today so I will be attending a couple Tea Parties today. First, I am attending our local Pittsburgh Tea Party. Then, I will be heading on a bus and attending the D.C. Tax Day Tea Party.  Everyone have a wonderful time and beware of "Party Crashers" at your local Tea Party.  One suggestion: Inviting the Tea Party Crashers to find out about the Tea Party movement or ignoring them may prove to be more effective than getting into an argument and yelling ensuing.
