Happy Father's Day To All The Dads Out There

I found this Father's Day posting on The Moderate Voice.

Happy Father’s Day
by Martha Randolph Carr
A child needs two parents who care about them and show up for them in all aspects of their lives. When we do that we let the small fry know that the world’s a safe place in the small moments of sitting next to them in church, cheering them on from a variety of sidelines or holding our children close when they’re not feeling well, inside or out.
It;’s the biggest opportunity for an adult to be accountable and learn that very little of life is really about us at all. That’s a good thing.
But somehow in the mix of trying to figure out how we can lead more authentic lives a lot of us forgot about that axiom and started acting like our needs came ahead of everything else. CONTINUED

"A child needs two parents..." couldn't agree more.

Too bad our society seems hellbent on patricide.

I love throwing my little one in the air and catching her on the way down, she has so much fun most of the time.

On the odd occasion though, i catch her off guard and she gets a bit scared. I share that opinion of a bit of rough play.

A fathers duty is to raise them for the world and it's not always a nice place so we have to prepare them for a bit of rough and tumble.

It does mean that they're closer to mum that dad, but that's the price i have to pay for her.
