Rick Santorum Surges in Iowa

I am pleased to announce that Rick Santorum has broken from the back of the pack, is surging ahead and now is virtually in second place (if you add the polls in the last two days) in the Des Moines Register Iowa Poll.  His message is resonating with people.  We need someone as President who understands that both the family and economics are connected.  We need someone with a strong foreign policy background.  We need a person who has a record of getting things done in Congress.  Rick Santorum is all this rolled into one individual.  He is just the man we need to be President of the United States.  I just hope his momentum continues.

In the recent weeks, Santorum has picked up two endorsements - one from Sam Clovis who is a Sioux City talk-show host and the other is from the bestselling thriller author Brad Thor. This is the first time Clovis has endorsed a candidate in the caucuses.

From abc News:
He said he’s supporting Santorum because he is an “ideal candidate” who believes in “a constitutionally limited government, fiscal responsibility, strong national defense and unflagging devotion to life and traditional marriage.”  Thor said in a statement that Santorum is the “one presidential candidate who understands and can swiftly address the threats facing our nation.”
“Rick knows that the world would be forever changed by Iran getting a nuclear weapon, and he has sworn to keep this from happening. I am excited to add my endorsement to the growing list of prominent supporters who understand that Rick Santorum is the right man, at the right time to lead our nation,” Thor said.
Santorum has also received the backing recently of the state’s secretary of state, Matt Schultz, and several high-profile Iowa pastors.

More great news for Santorum - Iowa's evangelicals moving to Santorum.

It is getting close to impossible for Americans to imagine having a president they could trust to honor and fulfill the president's oath of office. Santorum could change that--wouldn't it be wonderful?

Happy New Year Teresa. Wishing you good health, prosperity, and whatever else your heart desires.

I have to admit something though, he does seem a bit bland, personally. Now, from my perspective, that is good. But will sedate, secure, reasoned, sell to a populace so addicted to instant gratification?

I remember my father speaking about people being like that when I was too young to know what he was talking about. Then it involved "free sex" and drugs (for a small portion of the population, actually). The internet, twitter, text, and talk-all-the-time crowds of today, added to what he knew then, would make him... I don't even know. Be even more dissapointed?

Whatever, I am certainly rooting for Rick. I think he might just have a shot at it. If we could get the other conservatives with no real chance to step out, that would help a great deal. Michele, certainly. If Perry really falls down, he should consider it too. He had his chance and blew it.

Doom,

He is the one candidate I can get excited about. I most certainly think he has a good chance of winning both the nomination and presidency.

I saw the claws coming out and going after Sen. Santorum today in the Fox News Sunday interviews with Bachmann & Perry. Now that's he's doing well in Iowa, we will begin to hear some negative things. I still think he's a true conservative and that's more than I can say about several of the other candidates.

Oh, forgot to wish you a Happy New Year!

I am glad to see it become a race. You would think Iowa was the be all and end all. He is of Moral Fiber which sure is a start. But they will attempt to destroy.

I've always wondered why Santorum never caught fire. He's a serious, experienced guy.

I remember when WaPo did an outstanding piece on him regarding how he really knew his stuff on foreign policy and how his foreign aid advocacy showed him to not be a religious bigot at all... It was high praise for a conservative coming from a liberal outlet.

Of course, they wrote the article after he lost his senate race...

I will be voting for Rick Santorum in the New Hampshire primary and I am so happy to see him finally start to move in the polls. I just read that his fundraising is doing well in the last few days as well.
He is going to be at an event in New Hampshire on Wednesday just a couple of miles from me and I am planning on attending.

Teresa, You have made a good case for Santorum. We liked the fellow from the beginning.

He has a good economic and tax-reform plan that will make the economy grow. I wish he would dedicate more time to expose it to the public.

We created a new AD for "Santorum 2012" and our site is temporarily sponsoring it. Hope you like it!
