We all our tested at various times during our lifetime. It seems like I am being tested moreso lately due to finances being really tight, and having questions regarding my faith. Does your faith ever test you? Do you ever question whether God has a plan for you? Questioning things is a part of life. When Questions arise whether it be related to faith, politics, or just life in general it seems like the answers are out of my reach. Growing up as a child life used to be so simple but since I entered into and have experienced adulthood for the past 15 or so years it just seems like life gets more complicated the older I get. Growing up I remember people of different political views gathering together and having a good time. Now that the country is so partisan it seems that it is hard to have a political conversation with another person who has the polar opposite view as your own without someone getting angry and lashing out at the other. I know it's possible but I just don't think it happens nearly as often as it did 20 years ago. Is working together the answer when our beliefs are so diametrically opposed to one another? With our values being so different from one another? Should one compromise their values in order to find middle ground with the other person's point of view? Is there even a way to compromise without compromising your values?
I thought that I would have gotten my Eagle Freedom Links done today but unfortunately that didn't happen so hopefully I will post them tomorrow. My husband and I had talked for awhile about starting a blog together so when the blogger blackout occurred we thought that it was the opportune time to start it. We have been working on the style of the blog over the weekend. We will be adding links and other goodies to our blog shortly. We decided to go with Wordpress instead of blogger so slowly but shorely we have been figuring out all the ins and outs of the wordpress format. Our blog's name is Catholibertarian. Interesting huh? Who would have thought that those two would go together?
I hope all of my blogging buddies have a great week!!

T, I don't know anybody (the honest ones, that is) who does not struggle with faith at one point or another. Even priests and rabbis struggle with faith. It is so hard to know the answers but it is OK to ask them. It is a mark of your maturity that you are brave enough to talk about it.
I was envying the Wordpress blogs last week, too. Lucky dogs!
hang in there Teres....wer'e all in the same boat~!
We have friends who are very liberal and we have found that avoiding politics, if possible, is the best way to go.
I don't think we ever stop questioning things in life, no matter how old we get.
Looking forward to seeing your new blog. Good luck with it. WordPress seems to have a lot of nice templates and features.
Teresa I struggle with compromise all the time. The founders struggled with as many of them held polar opposite beliefs. Patrick Henry want little to know government and felt that the article of confederation were the right dose of government. James Madison on the other hand envisioned something that resembled a monarch. He want a powerful central government. Many on both sides of the ideological spectrum has their supports, but they eventually did find common ground in Philadelphia on 1787. They were locked away from outside influences, sworn to secrecy so they could face off and hash it. Polar opposites can find common ground. Keep the faith Teresa.
I don't question my faith too often but, by gosh, I sure question some of things going on in my Church. No doubt there is an infiltration of Marxism in all the churches.
Is the world of politics different than 20 or 30 years ago? You betcha! Most of my relatives (in Minnesota with a few in California) are Marxists.
The only relative that I have any contact with is my aunt by marriage (who thinks Obama is fabulous, but I overlook that because she is in her late 70's and only accesses MSM.) I am ridiculed, called nuts, crazy, stupid, and a "religious nut" by my own family.
It's the new modern day form of martyrdom. My blogger buddies have become my "family."
Looking forward to the new blog...
Hang in there Teresa, Thomas Jefferson said "Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." (yes, I googled it to get it right) This is one Glenn Beck turned me on to and it's one of my favorites...
As far as your politics and personal convictions, stand fast as you are on firm ground... You need not compromise with the loons on the left because they would not respect you for it, but think you weak and go for more...
Can't wait to read your new blog...
I've noticed a pattern in my life and others. Often the best times are preceded by the most difficult. When the difficultly of the moment is overcome we become stronger. Remember we are chosen out of the furnace of affliction.
I look forward to seeing your new project!
I walk every morning with a screaming border-line socialist liberal. We are best of friends and when the conversation ends up on politics, one of us will say enough of that crap ... let's change to subject.
We have liberals in our families and to keep the peace we don't talk about politics either.
We all have doubts and there isn't anything at all wrong with asking questions when we're not sure.
Can't wait for the big unveiling.
