What a pleasant surprise to see you posting something from the Orthodox Catholic Church, and you picked a great topic because, sadly, empathy seems to have been almost completely wiped out of existence here in America. Our national and individual hearts have grown cold as we have become more and more hedonistic. Let us pray that we can reconnect with love and restore empathy in our individual selves and our nation as a whole.

Thank you for posting this.

Christopher, I am a regular visitor to Karen's blog.

I hope you do not take offense at my correcting you, but the term "Eastern Rite" refers to a branch of the Roman Catholic Church, They use the same liturgies and vestments as the Orthodox Catholic Church, but the Eastern Rite Catholics are under the jurisdiction of the Pope, whereas the Orthodox Catholics are not. The Orthodox Churches each have their own Patriarchs, such as the Russian Orthodox are under the Patriarch of Moscow, the Greek Orthodox are under the Patriarch of Constantinople, etc., but they are united in faith and theology.
