Mom of baby Grayson Walker Facebook account banned over "offensive" pics of anencephalic son

Facebook has really showed their true colors of intolerance and hatred of all precious life by having banned Baby Grayson's mother after she posted photos of her son. This is blatant discrimination against a handicapped baby whose mother chose to remember and celebrate his life by posting pics after his passing. Baby Grayson's parents have created a Facebook page in remembrance of their precious angel from God so please go over and hit that like button. I am so tempted to cancel my Facebook account. Another idea, is will someone please create a freedom-loving alternative to Facebook? You can see some of the supportive comments that were posted on twitter via Twitchy. The family has also created a blog called Our Sweet Boy Grayson James where they journal about missing their son. Grayson was only lived for 8 hours after he was born but this beautiful video shows the parents celebrating their son's life and loving him with all their hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I'm truly surprised the 'enlightened and tolerant' folks running YouTube haven't banned the video yet.

Of course it's offensive to liberals. To their way of thinking, she should have aborted that baby.

Teresa, It has been my plan to one day discuss what our family went through two years ago. We're not ready yet. It's still too fresh in my daughter in law's mind. I can relate very closely to this story.

People's priorities are so twisted that it's frightening to realize that a sad and tragic reality coupled with a family's pain is shunned, while extreme profanity, lewd and disrespectful sex, and violence are allowed, and enjoyed, by the masses. The banning is a blatant and despicable act against this beautiful little soul and his loving family, which is trying to bring some dignity and remembrance to his birth.
Shame on you.

Facebook made a huge mistake in removing the photos. However, they've owned up to their error and have issued an apology. Also, Heather Walker was never banned from Facebook. Instead, they temporarily blocked her ability to upload photos as a consequence of having a photo removed from the site. This happens automatically whenever a user is cautioned for inappropriate content.

First, how do you know the Facebook employee(s) who removed the pics are liberal? Also, I think it was wrong of Facebook to remove the photos and I'm certainly not a conservative.

Malcolm,

Thanks for sending me the link. What's weird though is in both the video and in the Huffington Post article it says that the mother was banned from Facebook. Not just from uploading photos.
Actually it says "Shortly after, the social network deleted the images. When the Walkers encouraged family and friends to contact Facebook in protest, the social network banned the mother from the site entirely, notes the Daily Mail."

So it seems that Facebook did both, First banned the mother from uploading pics and then banned her in totem for having her family and friends contact them in protest.
At least Facebook admitted they made a mistake. I wonder how the photos got tagged as "offensive"? And how likely is this or something similar to this to occur again?

I just wonder if the apology and reinstatement would have occurred had there been no public outcry. Maybe... Who knows...

What a beautiful video and what precious little one.

My heart broke for those parents. He was loved so deeply.

Thank you for sharing this video.

Considering some of the things that ARE allowed on facebook, I can't see how this innocent child is a problem.

Luke 18:16-17
King James Version (KJV)
16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Teresa: I've been tied up so I wasn't able to respond to your reply earlier. I had noticed the same thing as you in regards to the HuffPo article. At the end of the article is an "Editor's Note" clarifying what FB did. Although they updated the headline, the post itself hasn't been which I think has created some confusion.

Had there not been an outcry, I'm skeptical FB would have made an apology. It often takes people speaking out about things like this in order for companies/individuals to do the right thing.

Malcolm,

I am in full agreement with you.

Life's been a bit crazy with my health and work the past week and a half or I would have responded earlier. Plus, trying to keep up on all three of my blogs is keeping me busy.

God Bless.
