I'm Home from the Hospital

I am home from the hospital.  Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and prayers.  They are much appreciated.  I am so blessed. I am also so blessed because all the doctors and nurses were awesome.  After I went to the back room to get ready for the surgery I had a comical experience.  Two residents attempted to put an IV in me.  I was dehydrated and my veins were pretty small so they had trouble but it was the way they went back and forth trying to figure out how to get the IV in my vein that made for comical relief.  Plus they kept apologizing and saying what a good sport I was for putting up with multiple needles.  They ended up having to call their boss so he could try and get the IV in one of my veins.  This actually made the time go by pretty quickly before surgery.  Their doc boss investigated the situation with my arms and found a vein.  He did very well and even without using the numbing needle it hardly hurt at all.  The docs trying my veins was no big deal to me. I’m used to it.
My doctor visited with me after I made it to my room as well as early this morning.  This morning he said that I looked really good.  It was definitely the will of God that this surgery took place.  From the little bit I know both my ovaries were severely damaged.  This confirmed my suspicions.  God is the greatest.  He knows best.  I am glad to be home.  I will be resting for I’m not sure how long but hopefully I will be by to visit everyone’s blogs soon. God Bless.

Hey, I was just asking about you and here is your post. Yay, you are home safe. Praying for your full and swift recovery, T.

And the good news is: you don't ever have to worry about ovarian or cervical cancer. Woohoo!

God always sends His angels to help guide the surgeon's hands.

At least, He has when I've gone under the knife.

Now heal up!

OK, back to work ... just kidding. I know you're stitched up and will be for about a week. Then it's kind of slow going for about five more weeks. By that time you'll be nuts with cabin fever and ready to bite old Woodsterman's head off. It's OK I'll just grow another.

No jumping jacks for six weeks ... hear? We all love you Kid.

I am so blessed to know all of you caring and thoughtful folks. I am feeling better and am definitely on the mend. One minor issue though. One of my stitches is infected so I'll be getting me some antibiotics tomorrow and my doc wants to see the infection and the rest of my stitches so I'll be heading to the doctor's office tomorrow too. God Bless.

It will be okay. The antibiotics should do the trick.

I hope so Leticia. The dang thing itches so much at times when I was in the shower I accidentally scratched where one set of the steri strips were and most of them came off. But it may have been partially due to my putting triple antibiotic ointment on the allergic reaction and it getting on the strips plus the water from the shower. So now I'm wearing a surgi pad over the area.
