Remembering 9/11

Tomorrow I am heading to Washington D.C. for the 9/12 March. I will be absent for a few days and look forward to being back and blogging with you on Monday.
September 11, 2001 is a day that will be ingrained in my mind forever. We must honor the FALLEN who died on this tragic day. We must never let the enemy slide through the cracks as they did that day. We must continue defending the nation against the terrorists. Evil came to us on that fateful day and we must continue to battle against this evil. As Americans we all came together on Sept. 11. WE MUST NEVER FORGET SEPTEMBER 11, 2001!!

Teresa - you are so right that we should never forget 9/11.
Here is an inspiring report on a call to mark 9/11 by participating in service in honor of our military families:

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/09/michelle-obama-and-jill-biden-launch-psa.html

ABC News' Yunji de Nies Reports:

First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden are calling on all Americans to volunteer in support of military families on this first annual National Day of Service.

The two women appear in a public service announcement and address the camera head on. With still images of troops interspersed, Michelle Obama says, ""Every day our brave troops and our families stand up for us…"Now we have a chance to serve these heroes….To ease the burden on a military family."

"For years we've asked so much of so few," Dr. Jill Biden says, "Let's honor their service, by volunteering ours."

Mrs. Obama has long said supporting military families would be part of her platform as first lady. Mrs. Biden's son Beau is a member the Delaware Army National Guard, currently serving in Iraq. In a separate interview released by the Entertainment Industry Foundation, which produced the PSA, Mrs. Biden explains that she comes to the issue from a very personal place.

"We are a military family, and so I think I understand what it is for military families to have someone serving overseas. And we need to take care of the families so that the soldiers can do the job they're supposed to do. And not have their minds elsewhere," Dr. Biden said, "Conversely, we need to take care of the soldiers. People have to reach out to other people in their neighborhoods, through their churches, through their schools to find out who the military families are and then make that extra little effort. I think it's really important that America appreciates what our soldiers are doing for them."

Thank You. God be with you also. Thank You for your and your daughter's sacrifice. Your family is my prayers.

Nyp,
Thanks for posting the information about volunteering. At first, I was leary of it coinciding with Sept. 11 and overshadowing that day but since the call is to serve the military families, it sounds like a good idea.

Woodsterman,

I think one thing every American, regardless of politics, definitely ought to unite around is standing behind our service personnel and the families they leave behind, who often make sacrifices of their own. We can get back to all of our other arguments after we all agree on that.

Nice tribute Teresa and I simply say "Never Forgive and Never Forget" until the %$%$W##% Muslim world apologizes to America and all the other victims of their 14000 acts of terror, and that's just SINCE 911!@!!!

WomanHonorThyself,
It was my pleasure to go to 9/12. Yes, Sept. 11 was a hard day.

Teresa said...

Ron,
I hope you saw me in the crowd.

Teresa said...

Nickie,
Oh Yes, There was definitely an army of patriots standing with me.

Teresa said...

Ray,
Your right. Muslims do need to apologize for all their horrible acts they've commiitted including: before 9/11, for 9/11, and after 9/11.
