Idolatry of Obama

I have noticed quite a lot of idolatry of Obama occuring from misguided individuals who think that Obama can give him Obama money and take care of all of their needs in their lives.  Idolatry is wrong. Obama should not be worshiped as if he was some type of messianic figure, because Obama is not a messianic figure.  He is far from being a messianic figure, or even a person to look up to at all.  Obama is a Marxist who is set out to destroy the very fabric of America.  He must be seen for who he really is- an extremely weak leader who is both an extremist and a narcissist in nature who is set out to "remake" America.

Here is an excellent article I came across on Eurpides wonderful blog, Self Evident Truths.

From a Danish editorial entitled Obama Greater than Jesus:

He is provocative in insisting on an outstretched hand, where others only see animosity.
His tangible results in the short time that he has been active – are few and far between. His greatest results have been created with words and speeches – words that remain in the consciousness of their audience and have long-term effects.
He comes from humble beginnings and defends the weak and vulnerable, because he can identify himself with their conditions.
And no we are not thinking of Jesus Christ, whose birthday has just been celebrated - - but rather the President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama.
Ever since the presidential campaign of 2008, when Obama emerged out of corrupted Illinois political obscurity into the perceived role of confident, capable leader of the United States, admirers consider him as a messianic figure - someone sent to save the people in their fallen state, who have suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous oppression under the Bush administration. Admirers and sychophants, of course, believed and continue to believe Obama as a savior of the United States. To many, he is the best hope to build some vague Utopia, miraculously and fantastically constructed from a myriad of individual beliefs at odds with each other, let alone at odds with the ideals on which our country was built.
Many non-believers see him, not as a savior, but as the devil incarnate - sent to destroy the foundations of all that make this country great. He is both, and at the same time, the staunchest of Marxists and the most rabid of Fascists. In religious terms, he represents the anti-Christ.
The rest of us see him for what he is - a politician with a leftist political agenda geared to increase government spending and government control over the lives of Americans.
He has shown little ability as a leader, merely expressing an agenda that the too left-leaning Congress is happy to extend. He has shown a wishy-washy ability, at best, to understand and deal with US concerns in global politics and a global economy. He continues to ostracize and polarize the political right, even more divisively than George W. Bush ever did in eight years with the political left and with the aid of the left-wing media. In fact, his policies a lot like George W. Bush's, but without any fiscal restraint at all.
So when these messianic opinions arise in the public arena, comparing Obama to Jesus, insisting on seeing superficial, and yes, idiotic comparisons between a mediocre politician and one of history's great religious figures, I shake my head in wonder.
Secularists wonder at believers who place faith and trust in God. I wonder at those who put an equally religious faith and trust in a politician. In Obama's case, pushing through an unpopular, expensive, and massive government program to create a bureaucratic morass out of the health care system hardly qualifies him as messianic. The Danish editorialist holds out hope in unwavering devotion to a politician:
Obama is, of course, greater than Jesus – if we have to play that absurd Christmas game. But it is probably more meaningful to insist that with today’s domestic triumph, that he has already assured himself a place in the history books – a space he has good chances of expanding considerably in coming years.
Enough is enough. History will decide Obama's place. In the meantime, can we stop building him into a religious figure and see him for what he really is - a mediocre politician with an agenda to extend ever-increasing government expenses and control?

Tony Blair Mk2, Teresa, he will say and do anything to get what he wants and convince himself it's true.

I'm sure he'll have his wings and claws clipped come the mid-terms in November. ;-)

Happy New Year!

I agree that President BO is the worst of the worst. If we do not take from him his power in 2010, we will no longer be "...the land of the free and the home of the brave."

Comparing O to Jesus is COMPLETE Blasphemy. He isn't fit to even say Jesus' name.

They try to idolize him because they are atheists and they are replacing GOD with a devil (zero).
The biblical prophesies are coming true day by day. We need to pray we are delivered from this evil man and all his deluded minions!

The comparisons between Obama and Jesus are by some really, shall we idiots of the useful variety?

As for him being the Antichrist, as some will no doubt say, I don't believe he's fooling enough people to qualify. He's a failed politician who simply hasn't realized that he has failed.

Teresa said...

Barking Spider,
I hope so. They need to be chopped off in a big way.

Teresa said...

Joe,
Your right. His power needs to be removed before the damage he causes to this country is irreversible.

Teresa said...

Amusing Bunni,
Your right. It is complete Blasphemy comapring BO to Jesus. If anything he's a messenger for the Anti-Christ. All I know is that BO is one evil dude that must be stopped.

Snarky Basterd said...

He is ... a pompous ass who's biggest concern is ... himself. The only thing he has in common with Jesus is ... a loincloth. But Jesus earned his.

Teresa said...

Matt,
I think he could be a messenger for the Anti-Christ. All I know is he is spreading evil and tyranny across the United States, and even maybe across the globe.

We have to make sure he is out of office in 2012.

Let's be honest, he can't be blamed for what this person wrote.

A better example is a photo that the someone who works for him put on the White House website. He was making some sort of speech at a school and this kid had Obama's name etched into his hair.

They, themselves put this on the site. It was really stunning to me that someone didn't realize that they were just feeding into the belief that he is some sort of rock idol.

If you didn't see it, here is the link. It is really amazing that they put it on the website. I was really dumbfounded when I saw it.

Even at the best, he is going to be old news in a max 7 years, running around trying to re-write history like all the other former democrat politicians of the last 40 years, because they screwed up so bad, it even dawned on Them at some point.

Many in the media and society believe Obama is some sort of mesonic icon. He isn't,and far from it.

He is just a man, just another politician, and just plain bad for America right now.

Thos who worship him, again in the media and else where are for the most part helpless people. Who, need to loot and mooch on the rest of ability.

Teresa,

The only people who believe in Obama are the weak minded and weak spirited!
Those that think this country owes them a better way of life. They have to realize that there is no such thing as a free ride! Unfortunately until they do, they will be stuck in the never ending downward spiral of Socialism!

Teresa said...

Just a Conservative Girl,
BO can be blamed for him and the MSM treating him a messianic figure and encouraging people to believe that. He and the MSM are culpable in that sense.

Teresa said...

The Kid,
I would not be surprised if BO is trying to make himself dictator for life. I don't trust him at all. But, hopefully we will be rid of him in 2012.

I know whats best for you Teresa and if you just give me a chance I will make a better life for you and your family. A vert excellent post ! I find the hypocrisy in the left on full display in all of this to and including the new religion of man-made Global Warming.

How they can look themselves in the mirror everyday is beyond me?

How can they not see this?

For them to even say ANYTHING at all on any subject about people of REAL FAITH is disgusting.

Kid said...

Christopher - I think a lot of his supporters know what he is. I just think they do not care. Hey, it's a black man in the White House. (I typoed it first and wrote Shite House..)
Anyway, there are many people who do not care How it's down as long as it is done. Look at the number of people who cut you off in traffic, or slight you in some other way. To them, whey 'Won'. They scored, they got over. That's what this is. And though I've said it a millions times, wait till they see what they've won.

Just the number of people making money off of the nonsense like global climatescam, or cap and trade, or giving our money to worthless bastards inside and outside the country or taking over the health care industry, is staggering. Many people vote with their wallet. The American Paradigm (did I write that?) is Corrupt and diseased, though it always has been to some degree.

Think of the number of people investing in companies who will 'benefit' from the democrats evil plans. Just tune into CNBC a couple hours. Enough to choke a horse. This ain't no society where people look to do the right thing by any means.

Sorry for the downer.

Yeah, BO recieves all the glory likes he's a celebrity and he's not. Personally I think BO might be scrrewing up the economy on purpose. Its either that or he is utterly incompetent. The man has no idea how to stimulate the economy. He thinks the Chicago Way brings jobs. The only thing his Chicago Way has brought to the White House is the most corrupt administration in history.

Ron,
Obama needs to F-off and crawl in his own rat hole since he is the dirtiest, nastily smelling , and biggest rat in America. He needs to take his Ivy League education and shove it because he has proven that he is the weakest leader on the planet and he has never run anything in his life and that is why he is really SUCKING in being President. He is a radical with NO common sense. He is the corrupter-in Chief. He and his power trip needs to be stopped and he must be voted out in 2012.

He thinks he knows better but this man is low-life pond scum that doesn't know didley squat.

Gee..That rant felt real good.

Fuzzi Slippers,
This is revolting. He is indoctrinating kids into the liberal, I can't do anything for myself, way of life. I hate liberalism because it is so pessimistic and wants to hold people down instead of encouraging them to be great and do great things in their life. Relying on the government mentality is a disease and a horrible way of life.

Teresa said...

Christopher,
I can't stand the hypocrisy on the left either. They have made this man-made global warming crap into a cult. They hate religion but worship the environment. All they want to do is destroy religion and faith. It disturbs me that they don't respect people who believe in Christianity but defend those who want to kill us- Muslims.

Teresa said...

Kid,
I think that people are willfully ignorant. All the facts are right in front of them but they don't care, as you stated. Well, they are going to be surprised how much of our and their freedoms are lost because of Obama.

Malcolm said...

I agree with Just A Conservative Girl, President Obama isn't to blame for the editorial. Wes Welker of the New England Patriots was injured yesterday. I have a feeling if Rush or Glenn said that Obama was to blame, you'd believe it.

Being conservative is one thing, but come on! How about showing a little objectivity?

Teresa said...

What onjectivity? This article shows how absurd the people are who idolize Obama.

I hate pretty much everything about Obama but definitely wouldn't blame for sports figures getting injured.

That was a schmucky statment by a liberal's subjectivity.

I tell you what it might surprise you as much as I think Obama has made this country less safe I don't put the blame on him for the underpants terrorist making it into U.S. but I do for his horrible response.

Fuzzy Slippers said...

Malcolm, Malcolm, Malcolm . . what are you doing? I hope this isn't your model of how to bridge the political divide? How unpleasant of you to say this to my friend. My sense is that if Welker were injured, your "team" would blame President Bush, or to draw a closer parallel to your silly comment that if the HuffPo or Matthews or Maddow said it, you'd believe it. We can go back and forth like that all day, no?

Teresa said...

Fuzzy Slippers,
Thank You for your support, my friend.

Malcolm said...

Teresa: Me asking you for some objectivity was in regards to your venomous comments towards President Obama and liberals in general. I can almost feel the hatred. You are right about people who worship Obama. Although I support him, I know he doesn't walk on water.

My Wesley Welker comment was a mix of tongue in cheek and frustration at you and other conservatives who seem to believe every smear you hear against Obama. For example, the video montage "proving" that he's a Muslim. Having said that, I am glad to hear you aren't blaming him for the underpants terrorist entering the U.S.

I'm still wondering if you have an answer for a question I asked you about Factcheck.org:

Do you trust them in regards to the rumors/lies they've debunked about Obama?

Fuzzy Slippers: No, this isn't what I had in mind for bridging the political divide. However, after reading Teresa's replies in this thread and hearing her call President Obama everything from the devil to low-life pond scum, it got to be a bit much. As I said to Teresa, my Welker analogy was part tongue in cheek humor and frustration... admittedly, it was more of the latter.

I get my news from various outlets (The Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNN, the internet, etc.). Even though I'm a liberal, I don't take as gospel the words of Maddow, Olbermann, the folks at Huffington Post, etc. I'll do some research and then come to my own conclusion. One thing I'll tell anyone regardless of their political views is to not believe everything they hear.

By the way, did anybody ever tell you that you're sexy when you get angry?

Teresa said...

Malcolm,
Do you realize that I this post was from a column? I see Obama as evil, and much, much worse than Jimmy Carter. He is "remaking" America and in a very bad way. He is the ruination of America and I think he should be shipped off to one of his favorite countries: Cuba or Venezuela.

I bet you said similiar things about George W. Bush?

This President has attacked our freedoms like no other President in history and now is having a health care reformation and is going to destroy the health care system as we know it. The bills are not true health reform but many things in it violate the constitution and take away many of our freedoms.

I have to check out that factcheck link but I have to find it first.

Fuzzy Slippers said...

Malcolm, you're cute. I agree that we can't and shouldn't believe everything we hear, but there are some of us who actually believe that BO is pond scum (not sure about the devil incarnate thing, I'm reserving judgment on that one for the time being :p). Okay maybe not literally pond scum, we do know a little bit about dem dere book learnin' tings. ;)

I'm not sure how you are defining "liberal" when you say you are liberal. There's liberal and then there's liberal. Old-school JFK liberalism was very different from the socialist-progressive liberalism we see take the stage now.

One of the things that upsets many of us is how radically left this administration is, as Teresa points out, the country itself is center right, and we see the lunge to the far far left and are quite horrified. That manifests in some anger, fear, and reflexive vitriol. Take it with a grain of salt, much as we took the Bush is a terrorist, devil incarnate, fascist, etc. and etc. rhetoric for six or so years (see? I didn't even exaggerate and say it was through all eight of the years we experienced with him at the helm of this great nation.)

Malcolm said...

Teresa: Yes, I am aware that "Obama Greater Than Jesus". I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. Feel free to explain.

I hate to disappoint you, but when it comes to remarks I made about George W. Bush, I didn't come close to the level of venom you've spewed about Obama. Sure, I think Bush was a lousy president who messed up this country, but I didn't waste my time going off on him at every opportunity.

In case you are looking for the link that shoots down that nonsensical "Obama Is A Muslim" video, here it is:

http://www.factcheck.org/2009/12/truth-on-the-cutting-room-floor/

Fuzzy Wuzzy: Without getting off into old school vs. new school liberalism, I will say that some of the things I'm in favor of are: health care reform, gay rights, a woman's right to choose, etc. Let me also add that I'm not one to stand around expecting a handout. Although some conservatives seem to feel that this mindset (aka a strong work ethic) is owned by them, I strongly disagree.

The right should be concerned about all that anger, fear, and reflexive vitriol you mentioned. If you aren't, it may prove to be the downfall of the conservative movement/Republican party as we know it.

As for me being cute, thank you and right backatcha.

Teresa said...

Malcolm,
Many others and I see Obama as more than just a bad politician. He takes that to a level unheard of since WWII. I disagree with his anti-Christian agenda and forcing his lack of conscience in regards to many different topics others.

In the first quote the only differnce was this and this has no relevance as to Obama's heritage.
"The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans"

He may say that he is a Christian but I don't believe him for his actions do not convey that of a Christian. He may not be a practicing Muslim as in attending Musques etc, but I do believe that he is a Muslim sympathizer and that is why is has no idea or chooses not to deal with terrorism properly and likes he cares about stopping the terrorists.

"that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t"

There really isn't a whole lot of difference there and doesn't dispute the fact in both phrases that he has known Islam on three continents.

I am sure that Factcheck.org is correct in it stating of what Obama said during his campaign. But, I still think as most politicians do, that he was lying about how much growing up with a Muslim heritage has influenced him and still does.

Fuzzy Slippers said...

Hiyas Malcolm, I'm not sure that we do need to be concerned about our anger or fear, though. It's a reasonable response to what is happening to our country, and we have every right to be angry and fearful and to channel that into affecting positive change (real change, not hopeandchange empty rhetoric). And that's exactly what we are doing, working within the law and according to the rules of our Constitution to change the balance of power in Washington.

And that happens this year.

At which point, we can relax a bit and wait for 2012 to affect one last, much-needed change. ;)

And in the meantime, I intend to be quite substantially angry, fearful, and vitriolic (but do feel free to let me know if you think I go too far. heh.).
