A Common Sense Solution that Needs to be Followed by ALL of Our Representatives
Article 5 of the Constitution states:
The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

When it comes down to it, We the People can do whatever we want to. We don't need DC to lead us, they need us to lead them.
I believe many of the states are gathering now ...
Your correct in the common sense. Not many are aware of how senators were chosen before and there inlies the problem of repealing that ammendment.
Just see the reaction when you try to tell them you are taking away their right to vote!
Do not misunderstand me, I want this repealed but the unwashed masses out there have no clue and will never understand the concept. They will only see this, and will be framed as such by liberals and republicans alike, as being disenfrachised.
I don't think I want this Congress, or the upcoming Congress, or any Congress made up of members of the two major parties, anywhere near the Constitution, even if they have good intentions. ^.^ But that's just me.
I guess I should say a Congress made up "solely" of members of the major parties...
Chris W,
I agree with that in some respects, but we do need Congress to repeal the law in some way. Unfortunately, citizens working in cooperation with Congress to repeal the law is a necessity.
Odie,
I think so, too.
Christopher,
I understand what your saying. Sometimes people feeling disenfranchised is worth it to retain our Liberties and freedoms. Feelings must be considered but not so it jeopardizes our well-being.
Liberty,
I think the problem is the congressman not adhering to the Constitution and instead of them actually using the Consitution for good causes, or to regain lost liberties and/or freedoms.
I would like to see additional members in congress of other parties as well. I would also like for the Tea Party movement (which it seems to be doing already) promoting consevative candidates to challenge the RINOS along with the Democrats. But, even if other parties were in congress, the two parties would most likely always makeup a majority within congress.
