"It is not because we care about children, and it isnot because we have a vision of a great public school for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power. And we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues …”

Thanks for spreading the word Teresa!
Don't look for that Union Label!
Teresa, this has been the goal and purpose of the NEA from its very founding.
I have never had any respect for unions, even when I was forced to join one years ago when I was a printer.
Perhaps unions were good in the early days in getting workers higher wages and better working conditions, but they have long out lived their usefulness. Unions have been the main cause of our jobs moving overseas or going out of business completely.
Since the public workers work for us and we pay their salary, it is wrong for them to have better benefits and higher wages then us, and especially in hard times like we are facing today.
The NEA has their hands in all sorts of surprising pies. We must keep an eye on them.
